Help Waterblock gtx 580

Palit/XpertVision GeForce GTX 580 1536MB GDDR5 (NE5X5800F10CB)
This is the card and I got a EK5x0gw water cooler but it does not sit right and the temp id too high 57c at idle.

It is apparently the correct block. Your idle temps are certainly too high for WCing. have you tried reapplying paste and re-screwing the block?

Full cover VGA blocks and VRM/nb motherboard blocks usually have a screwing order to make sure there is enough contact at parts where there is a priority to dissipate heat. Usually the screws around the chip are done first alternating each tightening between them to ensure even core contact, this is usually done until screws that support the chip are half tightened. Then, the order of things depends on the blocks layout. The info on how to correctly tighten a water-block should be on the manual that comes with all EK water-blocks.

When you lift the block off, you will notice the outline of components on the thermal pads EK recommend you use. If these pads have even indents and you can see contact on almost all the components, likely that it was correctly fitted the first time.
