Hi, I'm new to this forum and also new to custom water cooling, I currently run a FX 9590, and Fury X each on their own closed loop systems, I'm going to be building a new TR system in the coming months, with the current issues I have with the FX chip I have I was thinking a overkill closed loop would be great, my Corsair H-100i only just copes and I had to turn turbo off.
I know TR will not run this hot but I just would like an all in one solution for all components.

The new system would have a 480mm rad, that's all I know about the water cooling side..
I need to know what fittings I need, what pump, what resoiviour, piping, liquid, ect..

I would like to keep it as distilled water, also I need to find a block and plate for my Fury-X.

I'm not sure what else to add.


My case is a thermaltake core x9, PSU is getting on a bit but it's a coolmaster 1kw PSU [semi-modular].

I also need ram modules, gpu, CPU, mother board, all to be cooled.
 
Cooling RAM is pretty much not a thing any more - I would question if that really needs doing.

Similar for motherboard VRMs, there is debate as to whether this needs doing or if air is better.

As for fittings, make sure they match your tubing - best achieved by sticking to matching brands.

I'll leave the rest up to discussion as it's good to read around and get lots of information :)
 
You 100% need to cool a FX 9590's VRM, the CPU has a TDP of 220W.

Threadripper is 'only' a TDP 180W.

Cooling RAM is a waste of time - even EK admit it's for aesthetic.

Which manufactuer of Fury X is it? They're all reference cards, so a watercooling bracket for a Fury X will work with any of them.

You absolutely do, it seems AMD performance is almost always limited by VRM capabilities and cooling, to a massive degree. Seems to catch out lots of people.

But I was saying there's debate about whether water blocks actually work better than air, there's discussion on here. 8pack certainly believes air cooled VRMs perform better.

This is interesting, I'll have to read up about this, the only thing I'm worried about is noise, as my pc runs in my bedsit, next to my bed approx 6ft away.
 
EK did nice waterblocks for both the VRM and the Fury X - but stopped making them a few years back.

Best chance'd be the usual auction places - but odds are they'll come with the motherboard or graphics card attached.
