MODEL ssr 750fx seasonic focus plus 750 gold 80 plus gold , today when i shutdown my pc and turned it off from the wall i noticed a spark come from the wall switch , I then tried to turn my pc back on to see if it was working but it didn't turn on, so i tested the cable and that was ok , I tested the power supply and it was not working so i decided to open up the power supply, there was no burn marks and the caps from sight look ok, i did test the fuse from the power supply and its bad . It doesn't look easy to remove the fuse it looks like its soldered in with to cap ends , I am not sure if this is the only problem but it could be an easy fix if its just a bad fuse only . i am not sure what type off fuse i need to get to replace this one ,

Any pic?

It will be 3/5/13amp normally and for a 750w rules out the 3 I would think. You want it to blow before the cable, come to think don't you just have another kettle style cable to check? They also come with monitors until the power bricks got popular.

took out the fuse my eye sight is not great but it reads F15a 250v , I actually noticed a bad cap in there so i going to take that out to replace .

His talking about the fuse internally within the power supply.

That’s RMA time, it’s a bit late now as you have opened it up but seasonic normally has a 10 year warranty or something long like that.

Just make sure you know what you are doing, it’s really not recommended that you open up power supplies as they can be very dangerous.

The question is what caused the fuse to go? Its very rare for fuses to fail of their own accord, its far more likely something caused a power spike. A component shorting to ground for example.

Oops, yeah its not worth opening them up especially when Seasonic et al have warranties covering up to 10 years, its why I get them. :)

I am not sure what caused the fuse to blow but i remember when i was turning it off at the wall i was in a hurry, and when i pressed the power switch on the wall down to turn it off the switch didn't stay down and tuned back on , so it was turned off and on fast and the other thing was my PC wasn't fully shut down at the time as i could see the lights on from in the pc case .
I wasn't sure about the warranties because i have had it for about 3 years but i purchased it from used . I have ordered a fuse online so ill let you know if it has worked .
