Help - what's gone wrong with my Windows 7?

Daughter said my PC started flashing so she rebooted it and this happened -

Luckily I can dual boot into XP.

This is the final straw now with Windows 7 because it's been nothing but trouble.
 
im sure I have seen that before,

run a memtest if you have it to hand.... remember XP will use a lot less ram so may not be trying to use the duff ram...

I'm sure it was ram when I had it because it convinced myself it could not be a hardware fault and was messing about with drivers for ages..

might also be a vid card though that should show in XP as well, i'd also try a system restore to a few days ago

I can't do a system restore because I can't read Martian :)
Just thought, I can try it through pretend DOS.

I have been having loads of graphic problems in Win7.
Since I installed it about once a minute my window looks as though it turns in from the bottom right upwards and my video playback is awful no matter what player I use and what codecs I install.
