I have built my PC now and when I turn it on, all that happens is the monitor shows a small line like this "-" flashing in the top left hand side of the screen.

The first time it came on it said there is no device to boot from so I put the windows CD in and restarted, then the usual windows setup came up but it said there is no hard drive to install to.

From now on it just flashes the line in the top left hand corner of the screen when I turn it on

I have a Asrock ConroeXFire-eSATA2 motherboard and a Samsung SpinPoint P HD160JJ 160GB SATA hard drive if that helps

afaik.. you have to go into the RAID menu or boot menu and specify the drive as Non-array.. I had to do this with a build recently with the same problem. Hit the appropriate command key when booting.

Ok I am in the BIOS, I cant find the part where you choose non array. In the "boot" section all you can do is choose the order of devices you boot in and look at the floppy/cdrom/harddrives

ok on my system it's F4 for RAID but it maybe different on your system.. You need to hit this and this will take you into the RAID menu where you select your drive as a single array. Your system won't reconise it until you do.

This is different from the boot menu mentioned above.
