Hey guys... need your recommendations.
So further to my last post, my beloved 29EA93 Ultrawide is dying, red lines and haze everywhere, it's knackered. I'm gutted, I love this monitor, it's a lovely IPS that looks amazing in games.
Gonna disassemble it to see if I can wiggle some ribbon cables and it come back to life... but it's a 2012 monitor it's not likely.
Can anyone actually recommend an affordable 144Hz 1440p monitor? It's so hard to choose from the more 'affordable' end. £300-400 at a push.
> I want 1440p for work, because I will be dual-screening with a mac for music production. I also don't want a 27"+ at 1080P because it's not sharp enough. I currently only have one 970 so I guess don't mind downscaling to 1080 for gaming for the time being. But in the future will be heading in the 1070+ direction.
> I want 144Hz for CSGO, essentially. I do play 'competitively' and it's time.
> I don't really care for Freesync etc, should I?
> Is a mid-range VA panel gonna be a huge step down from my old mid-range IPS panel?
> Finally anything to say about pixel density on 32" vs 27"?
I know 27" is considered the 'sweet spot' for 2K resolution in terms of sharpness... but I have this 29" ultrawide and I really dont want a narrower monitor, I just want a taller one.
There's a big blank wall behind me, and a 32" will fit perfectly between my two studio monitors.
Plus I have a long-ish room with a bed at the far end, and 32" would be super big for Netflix and chill, at a distance...
If you're not already bored to death of this post, thank you.
I'm down to three options within my sub-£400 price range.
Any thoughts on these three?
The Samsung is the most attractive, the AOC has red accents and the Hanspree has a RED FRONT BAR AARHGH WHYYYY
The AOC and Hanspree have 3yr warranty vs Samsung 2, and the Hanspree is claimed fastest response time but who knows what that means in real life.
Aaaaaaand I'm still toying with the idea of buying a >60Hz 34" 1440P Ultrawide and just downscaling to 1080 for gaming... I love UW
Thanks for humouring my essay! Please leave me some tips guys, pulling my hair out here.
