Hello all,

...Um my processor has died along with the motherboard which was somewhat a depressing moment. I have been looking at an Asus Crosshair V Formula AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard which is on your site but I'm a little concerned about my RAM, to the point of will it work. The last time I used AMD was with the Athlon which was probably well over a decade ago. AMD was the N.K.O.T.B and I used one for a year and then moved to Intel and now moving back to AMD after probably 12 years ago. Now AMD motherboards used to have a bit of a reputation when it came to memory modules, they were fussy... Although, I would imagine decades later this is no longer the case as AMD is a close rival to Intel.

At the moment I've got 8GB of Corsair TW3X4G1333C9DHX and I am a little concerned because I've had a look at the installation/user guide and looked through the memory compatibility list and TW3X4G1333C9 is within the list of compatible memory modules. But, not with the DHX on the end, these are similar memory modules 9-9-9-24 1.5v. my burning question is will they work.

:(

Okay here is what I'm looking at.

Asus Crosshair V Formula AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard
AMD Bulldozer FX-6 Six Core 6100 Black Edition 3.30Ghz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail [FD6100WMGUSBX ]***

*** I'm going for the 6 Core at the moment, and will change to 8 Core at a later date as my this board will take 6 Core and 8 Core which is an added bonus.

I'm mainly concerned about my memory, I have a gut feeling it should be fine but a second opinion would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance
