Help! - Windows installs the same 6 updates over and over

Hi,

I recently did a fresh XP install on a SSD drive and all went very smoothly and has been working perfectly fine for a week or two, but in the last few days every time i boot the PC windows finds and installs 6 updates all related to .NET framework.

The install always seems to go smoothly so i dont have a clue why it keeps doing this. Its starting to bug me a little now to be honest.

Anybody have any ideas what i can try?

Below are the updates that it seems to love installing:

Installing Security Update for .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x86 (KB2478658) (update 3 of 6)... done!

Installing Security Update for .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x86 (KB2446704) (update 4 of 6)... done!

Installing Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x86 (KB2418241) (update 5 of 6)... done!

I don't think they are installing smoothly as it shouldn't attempt to reinstall if it installed okay.
I would suggest to run the .net framework cleaner, run the clean all versions and once done and restarted, download the very latest .net framework and install this and take it from there.

There are ways round it, fastest way is just to hid the updates.

i didnt know about the cleaner - will give that a try.
