Both my C:/, which is a 74gb raptor and my 320 gb backupdrive are seen as removable devices.

Why is this ? Anyway to sort it out?

Clean install on a EVGA 680i mobo

cheers

In theory they are hot swappable as part of the SATA standard and the controller on your board treats them as such, hence appearing as removable.

yea but im guessing a raptor isnt ment to be bursting at 9mb/s hehe ;)

gad its just not funny

Hmm the 320gb backupdrive is working fine 132mb burst, but my raptor doenst want to go over 9mb/s burst

Anyone know anything about this? Its a 8mb cache raptor.

Excellent , got it sorted

I had to turn of Command Queuing, it was on by default.

Doesn't having that on improve drive performance?

Thats what i thought. Although it doesn't on old 74/36 raptors because its TCQ rather than NCQ so the controllers must support it. Do the new 74/150 raptors have NCQ?

But surely it shouldn't reduce performance? I've always had it enabled on all 3 of mine (old 74s) and never really measured the performance. Perhaps i should...
