Help with 360 pad on windows 7

Hi, just got a wired controller for my laptop gaming

, So i plugged it in installed fine tested it everything worked so i loaded up gta sa but i cant map the triggers to anything?

The Xbox 360 controller treats the triggers as another axis so they cannot be configured simply as buttons, maybe try Xpadder I'm not 100% sure if that will allow you to configure the pad as you want to.

will that make it worse for racing games or will i still get gentle accelaration?

Its game specific, doesn't gta support the pad as standard? Anyway If it doesn't and you want to party with triggers then just run any key launcher as above....

Most if not all games iv played with the pad work flawlessly inc stuff like crisis, dirt etc...

GTA IV does, but OP is playing San Andreas

Sa uses the pad but not fully. You can't look around but you can do pretty much everything else. Very few newer games don't work with the xbox360 pad, it's just that that games a few years old.

You want SAAC, it allows mapping of the controller to the game actions, works a treat.
