I'm looking for a good quality 5.1 system for use with games consoles and my PC. I have a budget of up to £200 but the cheaper the better unless quality is significantly better.

From my own research the Logitech Z-5500 seems the best I can get within the price range for an all-in-one system.

However, I have a complete speaker set from a Creative Gigaworks S750 available to me. Could I get an amp and subwoofer to accompany these? Are they good enough speakers or would I be better off getting new ones within my budget? If a new amp and subwoofer is recommended, then please suggest equipment to buy as I have no idea personally.

Also, I would be happy to get either 6.1 or 7.1 instead. The Gigaworks speakers I already have are from a 7.1 system.

I would also reccommend the Z-5500 for quality and aesthetic wise.

Thanks for assistance tchan_4 but in the end I went for a Sony HTDDW880. Anyone else here got one of these?

Will post comments on it once it's arrived and setup if anyone is interested.

Hi mate,

I am interested in pretty much the same setup.

A few questions:

1. How is the sound quality?

2. How did you get digital out from your xfi music? i was considering purchasing the meridian instead for better quality.

3. What additional cables did you have to purchase (if any).
