Help with 5870 drivers

No matter what I do I can't get any driver newer than 11.9 to install, they just get to the part where its installing the driver then it will just go to a black screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left hand corner and stay there.

Any ideas?
 
I have tryed uninstall then install, install over the top and even did a fresh install of windows the other week but non of it has worked.
