hoping for some advise on my Leadtek 6800gt AGP card.
The last few months i've noticed that when the card went into screensaver it would sometimes give a screen of mutli coloured blocks, the only way to get out of this was to reset the pc.
This progressivly became worse untill it would not reboot at all unless I went into safe mode.
I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the driver and have also gone back to XP to ensure that there wasn't a conflict going on.
When XP first booted up it did not even recognise the card or accept the driver for it,so I am now using a borrowed 6600gt,but before I bin the 6800 I have been advised to possibly try to flash the bios.
Any ideas on this guys?

how old is the card?

if its very very old or second/third hand it may just be its time. have you tried to overclock it a lot recently?

not that would really affect it too much in the way you've described though.

I bought the same card as you Leadtek Winfast 6800GT AGP about 3 years ago. It died at 13months strange coloured blocks all over the screen.
Ive since seen this problem reported quite a lot with this particular example
looks like you are another victim, bin it and move on. :)

I would say it's coming up to 3 years old.I bought it new and put an arctic cooler on it.Only ever been clocked using the nvidia control panel.
It does sound terminal but where would I look to get a bois for it?
Might as well give it a go before I bin it. :(

Temps were fine, nothing to get excited about when I was play a game.
I haven't even used it for the last 3 months for gaming as I was running Vista.
