Help with a bizzare sound program

Hello, my wife is doing a PhD project that requires the use of a software called Praat.

Basically she wants to add noise to the spoken parts of her sound files with a certain script that she has. But when we run the script the application crashes.

I was just wondering if anyone has any idea of how to work with this?
