Hi all,
My girlfriend left her laptop on the floor and has just opened it up to find a huge crack in the screen. She must have stepped on it and not realised.
The crack goes all the way up the centre of the screen, however, is not apparent when the laptop is off, i.e. its an internal crack.
I'm guessing that this means the screen needs replacing. Here's the crunch though, I just checked on PC World (evil I know) to see what sort of figures to expect for repair work and its £230, a bit hard to swallow.
I've built PCs before but never laptops, but would presume myself proficient enough to complete the task of replacing the screen, only I'm just wondering if there is a better way?
Cheers for any advice
Jonny
