Help with a build.

Okay so I'm fed up of my low spec laptop and want to build a PC.

I'll be using it mostly for Photoshop, video editing, web designing + whatever I have to do at Uni next year.

Looking for a build excluding the OS, keyboard, mouse, case + monitor.
Got them all already from a family member except the monitor.

Also what would be the differences between choosing AMD and Intel?
Is Intel better because of the hyper threading?

Post away what you think I'd need and then I know how much money I'll need to set aside. The budget is whatever I need to spend really. Nothing over the top as I doubt I'll need like the highest spec PC.

What is your budget to be honest? Come on at least a range, up to £1000? more? less?

For what you described I would say aim at £700 to satisfy your needs, Intel SB 2500k, a decent psu (corsair tx650 or so), 1TB HDD, Motherboard (try to get rev ones) and all the remainder on a GPU, just wait for some more precise recommendations!

Well I was hoping because I don't need a case/OS/Keyboard or Mouse & I'm keeping the monitor on a separate budget it would cost me £400-£600 give or take a £100 if need be.
