I am looking to get an overclock bundle, and i will need a new case to go with it. the problem is that this case will need to fit into a gap in my desk :(.. i was after the corsair 400r but its too high to fit, all other measurements are okay.

i was wondering if someone could offer some advice on a case that would fit these measurements (ideally looking for a case that offered some cable management if possible)

width 21cm (only allowing a 1cm airflow gap so maybe a fan on the top)
depth 50cm
height 49cm

the bundle i am looking at to fit this said case is the Super Nova X79 850i Intel Core i7 3820 3.60GHz @ 4.40GHz DDR3 Overclocked Bundle.

just dont want to spend all that money to find it wont fit in the gap i have.

Cheers

Jay

the phanteks is a monster cooler, and you probably won't find a case that'll easily fit both that cooler and on your desk

you could ask in the cs section to change the cooler to something like the nh-d14 or the h100 ;)

I assume the back of PC space is open?

The problem you will have is air flow. All flow will have to be front to back or back to front. No space top or bottom. Even a bottom intake PSU .

If youve got the money for the computer, surely an extra £50 can be found to buy a decent sized desk?

And not be able to buy a new mondo mouse pad?

:D

Define R3 will fit. Open all PCI back slots to let air out. Extend the feet 40mm for added air flow under case for another intake. Mount PSU to remove air from case instead of draw air from bottom. R3 is 20mm longer then space, but the front 40mm has control panel on top and sides are intake vents.

the reason for having to get a particular sized case is because i have just bought a desk about 4 months ago.. now the wonderful ppl at the bank have paid out some ppi cash which should be enough for a pc :) ... but i dont want a new desk as its going to lower my pc spec.. i do have a total height of 50.5cm so could mount/buy some feet for case to maybe raise it to allow the air flow..?

i was looking at this case

as it will fit the gap and with some added fans (x3)

the airflow should be good..
but i have to say now that i REALLY like the Fractal design one.. :) just dont know if this bundle would fit... will have to ask c/s and see if they can offer a smaller cpu fan..

thanks for the replies on this question..

So the Kingston HyperX Genesis is 30mm tall.

The Thermaltake Frio w/ fans Dimensions: 143(L) x 136.8(W) x 158.4(H) m (with both fans installed) and 32.8mm clearance

R3 supports CPU coolers with height of ~165mm

Looks a fit to me. :D
