Help with a first time custom build

Hello Everyone,

I've been looking around lately at getting a new PC to update from my 5 year old laptop, the intent is to use it for the latest games on there way such as Black Desert Online and Overwatch. However i feel myself getting completely overwhelmed by the shear volume of components, the compatibility between them and the varying views on different individual pieces.

My budget i suppose can range up to 1000 but if you believe that it is not necessary I'd rather leave room for upgrades down the line and go for a cheaper model this time around. I should also note that this budget would also be for a monitor and OS.

A website for games i often use recommended that for my price range the following parts are a great option but i don't know how much validity this carries and multiple opinions never hurt.

Case: NZXT Source 210
PSU: EVGA 600B
CPU: AMD FX-6300 or AMD FX-8320
Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 or ASUS M5A99FX PRO

I would be really greatful for any and all advice i can get and if there is any other general info you may need before making decisions then just ask.

1920x1080 at ideally 50-60fps ingame.

Individually around 500 but that is from various sites and does not take into account building and shipping costs (which i would prefer to have done for me via this website)

Okay so Ive been doing some research and come up with this build so far. I'm not sure on the case, cooler, memory or hard drives at the moment and as far as my newbie self can tell it is compatible and expandable if/when in the future. It falls in at £876.86, i feel like i may be overdoing it a tad for what i plan to play but if its not far off i dont mind the price its come to.

@Upgrade - I do like the look of your build however adding in the windows 10 at £80 pushed it to £910 so Ive kept the better SSD and gone with the msi 4gb 960 graphics card and that sits things on a nice £850 so its something to consider. I notice most people go for the Team Group Elite Memory Kits, are they the best for this kind of budget do we think?

@ExoMale - That looks like a very solid setup to me tbh and Ive not fully ruled out an AMD build so far but the general consensus seems to be if you can stretch to I5-6600k Intel then its a better rig, or am i wrong?

If thats the case i think i will stick to the intel build then. As for the memory team group elite seems like a great choice. Which leaves me umming and ahhing between these two following builds;

They are both pretty similar and only varying by motherboard, psu and case. i must say i am worrying that i could be overspeccing for what im going to be playing. Any last thoughts before i take the plung?

Its got a z170 motherboard and 600w psu already setup when you chose the Kinetic Z1 config so they dont get listed on the dropdown selections, thats why they are not mentioned.

@ExoMale - Unfortunately the room left in the £1000 budget is for a monitor and keyboard. i would be grateful for any recommendations

@Danny75 - i see a fair few builds with the super flower green 550w psu. Thanks for noticing the cooler price change.
