Help with a friend pc

Hiya,
My mates pc wont boot he need to hand in his uni work on this friday, i had a look at it, but i cant figure what wrong with it his spec are

P4 3ghz
Asus p4s800-mx 478 motherboard
1 gig ram
2x dvd rw
2x 80 gig hdd
all in wonder 9700 pro
400 psu that came along with the case

when u turn it on nothing wont display, i think there something wrong with the gfx card i took it out and clean it put it back in no luck, and there more he hard drive dont spin when i turn it on, same as the dvd rw, it like there no power going through it i tried swtching cable around, there p4 fan spins and the gfx card fans spin.

any help would be appreciated

sounds like the psu might be be bust

Yep the PSU is the most probable cause. What is the make for the PSU?

I had a generic 380W with my first build which was a LGA775 2.8Ghz P4 with FX5700 and if I install more than 2 Hdds they woudn't power up correctly, needless to say a new PSu solved the problem.

I even had an external 2.5" HDD that wouldn't power up right because of a crappy PSU.
