I'm planning a new build circa £700 and I'd appreciate some assistance with components as I'm a little out of touch having not built anything for about 4 years. Any recommendations would be greatly received.

The parts I need are CPU, mobo, RAM, graphics card, HDD/SSD, Windows 7, CPU cooler, PSU & Case.

I currently have a 500GB HDD, sound card & DVD RW that I can incorporate into the build.

Usage of the PC will be mainly gaming and ideally I'd like it to last me around 3years (with minor upgrades before a full new rebuild).

Thanks again in advance. :)

Which would leave you a room to buy your own case but maybe send you a little overbudget!

Saying that though the SAndybrdige chips are out soon, and Ive heard will be fitting into the same price brackets and over a higher clock to clock speed!

Cheers for the reply.

It looks like a nice build, but add to that a case and Windows 7 and I simply couldn't afford it at the moment. I should probably mention that my wife and I are expecting our first child soon so my limit really is £700 for the lot - maybe £750 at a push.

Thanks again :)

Can't believe any one without a business would pay for software..... Just saying

In a world were everythings downloaded it's very easy to get it for 0....

Now I like the look of that, RJC. I've never gone with Intel before; always AMD so it's something to think about. Thank you.

Also tried the above build with the 6870 and although pushing the budget to
~£740 it's possible.
