I am looking to build a new PC for a friend. He is currently using a ~10 year old machine and fancies an upgrade. I would appreciate some help with the build.
His main usage is general internet, including Iplayer and Youtube. Most importantly, he listens to a great deal of music through his PC and would like good sound quality. There isn't a huge amount of music (<50gb) so in general hard drive size is not a huge concern.
Where my friend wants to spend his money is on quality speakers for his music, and a wide flat screen display at or around 26". He also wants a dvd/cd player in there as he had a lot of music on disc.
His budget is around £1000 but I've told him that he doesn't need to come close to that for his needs. It really is as simple as internet, emails, basic office, music and video with an emphasis on speaker and screen quality.
