Help with a new processor

so looking at OP's edited post, there's nothing worth upgrading to from 2600 on that board.

wait for Haswell refresh and buy new CPU/MB combo, if the performance difference would be enough.

To be fair it's not worth upgrading to a more powerful i7 chip.

If you wanted to upgrade what I'd do would be to sell your processor then buy a second hand 3770K with a good cooler to overclock. Your processor should sell for a little less than a 3770K so the investment for the processor will be fairly small.

If you want to buy new, then for that price there is not much to upgrade CPU wise.

Just get a good cooler mate ( if you haven't already ) and clock what you can from it. Then go for Haswell refresh when available.

I did actually do the same sort of upgrade , i went from i7 2600 but on H77 boards. So could not clock at all. I went i5 4670K on Z87 and clocked it to 4.2ghz. If i could have got a decent clocking board i would have stayed on that. But very happy with haswell.

Best of luck
