Hi,

My wife needs a new PC. It's for home-office use & light gaming & needs to be a Ryzen CPU:p

I have spare a Reference Vega 56 & 16GB Flare-X 2400 DDR4.

*I'm covered for SSD's as well.

The wrinkle here is the Vega & PSU requirments. 650W & semi-modular preferred. Happy to spend a bit more for a quality unit.

Budget.. £350ish but cheaper is better.

So parts needed:

CPU: 3100?
MOBO: B450.. ATX preferred.
CASE: Was thinking P300A plus some Arctic P12 but cannot find stock:/
PSU: See above

Thanks in advance!:)

Thanks for the replies. It's true I might be being overly cautious with my 650w target.

I'm certainly very comfortable with superflower units as I've been using a 650w leadex gold for.. 4 years? And it's been brilliant. The Vega runs at 1v/1500mhz all day and night and iirc pulls about 180-200w as reported by gpuz.

I do need a case though so to stay in budget I'll likely need to go for a 3100..

Cheers guys, I'm edging closer.

*okay so the super flower 550w has only 1 VGA cable that daisy chains to x2 6+2.. so thats a no go.

Seasonics new Focus GX range looks like a fit as long as it doesnt have the below issue found on older models:

Seasonic Focus Gold, Plus Gold, Plus Plat., G, S12G - trips with AMD Vega and other high transient GPUs

So..

PSU: Fractal Design ION+ 660P 660W £105
CPU: Ryzen 3100 £100
CASE: Fractal Define Mini C w/o window (will sit under a desk) £70
MOBO: B450M MORTAR MAX £100

Total: £375.. slightly overbudget but should be okay.. cheers guys:)

Build completed! Have to say I really enjoyed building in the Define Mini C & M-ATX overall was a great change from ATX.

Just going to post this as I was getting a bit anxious that I would need a Bios update for the Ryzen 3100. According to the S/N the board I received today was manafactured in June! And here is the Bios it shipped with to confirm this:

For the cost difference I'd spend the extra on a 3600.

A 3100 isn't a bad chip however, and I'm sure it'll suit your needs. You've a really nice B450 too, so upgrading down the line grants you some great options.

Well it's my wifes PC & she was paying:D The good news is I can drop in a great update if required down the road, as you say. Ram is a bit naff too but the bones are there!

It's built:p

The monitor is 1440p 60hz. With a Vega 56 the ram isn't a massive bottleneck. At some point I'll grab some faster ram but it suffices for now. Likewise the CPU, that will get an upgrade at some point.
