I am trying to make a glass computer case and also wanted to add a laptop screen as one of the features.

Thinking of having a normal 28inch monitor but also having a Laptop screen connected to the case both working simultaneously.

Is it possible for you to do that using a PC's graphics card and how would you power it?

It wouldn't be easy, if it's possible.

From my little experience repairing my laptops the type of ribbon cables used between the laptop graphics circuitry and the screen itself are proprietary so splicing together your own interface between standard DVI and said ribbon cable could be very problematic.

Can't you just buy a normal monitor of that size and mod it to do what you want?

It is possible to do what you have described, but you need to buy a controller board (available from fleabay) - but being that they go for anything up to £80ish you are better off just getting a cheap screen and modding that :( It really is more hassle than it's worth
