Help with a silly vista bug

In an attempt to tidy the desktop, I right-clicked on a file Microsoft left on the desktop and chose Send To -> Documents to move this file off the desktop.

Windows Explorer crashed. Reproducibly.



And then restarted itself.



I dragged the file into the Documents folder and there was no crash!

I then created another file on the desktop and this one could be Sent To the Documents folder, no problem.

I suspect it was a permissions issue or similar on that particular file. Still crashing Windows Explorer is a bit drastic!

Long shot, but there is a problem with securerom (most recent updates for Mass effect and NWN2) that causes this exact problem.

i dont have Mass effect and NWN2 but the fix has worked so far thanx i was get realy **** of with vista

crap they bundle with games nowadays

for me now it's usually "if it aint on steam, i'm not geting it"

thay do put a lot off crap in games now.

IF your dont get a game coz its not on steam your goin to miss a lot of good games
