I think you have ruled out everything apart from the wheel bearing.

I doubt it's worn out as it would be making a different noise, but it could be dry. They are easy to take out and repack with grease. Certainly be worth having a look I think.

N00b question: What sort of grease?

Lube up the shaft (giggle) that the bearing goes onto or try to get grease inside it?

You will need to remove the wheel bearings to re pack them. Probably best if you watch this first, yours should be the same principal

Not exactly how I would do it but it gives you the general idea.
