I did post this in the Virgin thread but thought people who aren't using Virgin may still know the answer to this.

I've just bought a DIR-615 router as my wireless range on the SH is rubbish and had a go at setting it up with partial success.

First of all I connected my PC to the new router, disabled DCHP, changed the IP of the D-link to 192.168.0.100. I set up the wireless connection on it to my phone which connected perfectly. At this point I could still access the router menu at 192.168.0.100

Then I connected my PC to my SH and set it to modem mode, rebooted it, waited a couple of minutes and then connected WAN1 to WAN1 of the D-link, powered it on and plugged my PC network cable directly in to it.

I can now access the internet on my pc through the D-link so that is working.
However, I can now not access the router at 192.168.0.100 and my wireless connection that I had previously set up for my phone no longer connects. I can still access the SH at 192.168.100.1

I'm sure I have done something wrong however, networking is not my thing!

Any ideas?

Have you set DHCP on the router or the superhub? I would use the router to handle everything including the IP assignments personally. This might be the issue.

If I have DHCP set on the router I can't seem to get an internet connection. If I disable it I can't connect any wireless devices to it.

Also I can access the router until I reboot but as soon as it starts up again and I get internet signal I can no longer access it under the same IP.

You need to have the dlink on the same segment of the network ie 192.168.100.x
If the SH is 192.168.100.1 then 192.168.100.254 would be a good place to put it. You can often choose the ip range in the router to avoid a block of addresses for your non dhcp clients.

Thanks, I did try a couple of 192.168.100.xxx addresses but still didn't work/

I think I am sorted now however after much reading and meddling.

I installed DD-WRT and have set the router up as an access point. I can still use the ports on my SH (which is handy as it's near most of my equipment) and now my wireless devices are connected via the the router which is acting as a bridge(have set up DHCP forwarding to the SH)

This seems to be working for now and the wireless range does seem to be much improved.

God I hate networking, I need to learn more about it really and then I'll be ok :)
