Help !!!!! with alienware m11x battery

hi there i need help urgently with the battery on my m11x r1, basically a few days ago i noticed that i was only get around 2 hours fully charged on power saver with out the nvidia gfx card this is a massive reduction on the 6 hours plus i was getting before can anyone help i have so far re installed windows and all the drivers but not luck, the only thing i have noticed that the fan on hte gfx card is on a lot more than i remember it being on, the battery life is now like it would be with the gfx card engaged even tho it is not, please help this is driving me insane and this laptop is only about 8 months old so surely the battery cant be nakered after this time, any software where i could test the condition of the battery? but more importantly of all is getting more battery life than jsut 2 hours thanks a lot

Clean out inside your laptop, it's likely there's a large buildup of dust. The M11x is very prone to overheating and that'll both drain the battery and damage its potential battery life.

how old is the laptop? as most will only come with a 1yr warranty on batteries.

Hence im on my third battery for my dell xps 1530.

And yeah, recent Dells seem to kill their batteries quickly

Back to a desktop for me next.

yep have cleaned out all the insides, the lot is running a lot hotter than it used to any reasons why or how to get around this and yes its 8 months old if it isint sorted by monday ill give them a call just its a real pita to get it sent away etc

well looks like i dont need to call dell after all, well after i said the fan was on a lot more, i went and reinstalled all the original drivers and i think the problem lied with the newest gfx driver keeping the high performance mode on or something as i have installed the older drivers and now am getting my 6 hours of battery life

just thought id post this in case any others have any problems
