Trying to figure out if the auto calibrator on my onkyo NR646 is anywhere close to setting the right settings.

On my AMP i have turned to crossover upto max and set the volume to half way.....which i understand as recommended??

The AMP has set my crossover to:-
Front 40Hz
Center 70Hz
Surround 80Hz
LPT of LFE 120Hz

Any ideas if this is anywhere near right?

Nope.

Set your center and satellites to at least 100hz, possibly 120hz
Set your main speakers to at least 80hz, possibly 120hz.
Subwoofer to 120hz
Crossover on the actual subwoofer plate amplifier itself to maximum or disabled.

Set subwoofer volume to about 50%, run auto setup, see what your AVR sets it to. If it's very low like -10, then increase the subs dial volume control. If the AVR sets it to +10dB, then decrease the subs dial volume control. Run auto setup again. You want the AVR sub volume to be somewhere between -3dB to +3dB, once it's calibrated.

Run auto setup.

Auto setup never gets the speakers the right size.

Ok thanks used your settings.

One thing I have noticed if I sent the crossover on the sub to max I'm getting a constant hum from it
