Hello

I was hoping for some advice on my next upgrade. Last year I upgraded most of my computer but kept my old 560ti to save some money as it still had some life in it, but now that it can't meet the minimum specs for games like witcher 3 I think it's time I moved on. I was initially thinking of moving to a 290x but I'm not sure if it necessary as I only have 1680x1050 monitor and while I plan to upgrade, it probably won't be till next year. So would a 960 be a more sensible upgrade?

Also I'm not too familiar with amd cards as I've been an nvidia user for 10+ years, so are there any brands to avoid when buying amd?
Thanks for any help

Current computer:

AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320 Black Edition 3.50GHz
Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard
TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA
antec gaming tower case
OCZ GSX 1010W
