Hi there fellow Oc UK form member ;) I am just here to ask for a bit of help, I'm a bit fuffled......... Ok so I have a Asus 660Ti and lately I have been playing a lot of DayZ to prepare for the upcoming standalone. I usually hit around 25-40ish fps Am i am aware that is pretty standard for my card with everything on max.... But it rarely drops to about 25fpsish and i was wondering how would go around getting a stable overclock out of this little badboy :) I do realize that it would only in cress things about 8-12fpsish but i know it will be worth it as a lot of games are coming out with pretty high standards and lets just say im not the kind of guy who likes to play stuff on low detail.... So how would a "NEWBIE" go about overclocking this card. Please for the love of god no tech headaches As i said im a newbie overclocker and i just would like to know what i could maybe adjust the sliders on the software up to so that i would get a okish stable overclock if possible. I am not wanting to start to fuff around with my bios settings and all that faff... I am just looking for some suggestions that i could slide the bars to so that i will get a good stable overclock. If anyone at all can take 10 Mins out of there day to lend me a help in hand i would really appreciate that. =)

You can also try reducing in game anti aliasing that can significantly improve performance with the GTX 660 Ti

+1

Additionally you can try pushing the memory as high as possible as this is where the performance is poor on the 660Ti.

To be honest though even a supercomputer struggles to achieve good FPS on ARMA II so I wouldn't be too concerned about low FPS. Turn the draw distance down and the other taxing effects and see how you perform. The 660Ti isn't a particularly slow card and is likely to perform just as well as a 680 almost in ARMA II.

Try core 1050, memory 6500 and see how it is in Heaven 3.0. You can then bump from this point.

ah i have done this but i am only a few "frames" short of a stable 30 on max settings so why compromise? a small overclock looks to be beneficial =) thanks for the reply

Thanks for the awesome reply! I am about to test imginy's suggestion i will report back

Reporting back

Put your memory on 6700mhz and see if its stable :)

Put your boost clock up by 50mhz and see if its stable :)

Ok! Reporting back, I found this to be a little better =D Do you have any other suggestions? Maybe push a bit more out of this card?

Ok looks like you got a decent improvement :)

You can go higher but from there on out its just pretty much trial and error.

On my msi 660ti I run 7000mhz memory and plus 70 on the core as my normal overclock for playing games.

As for fan speed it doesn't really matter as long as your temps are not ever getting above 70c as your card will automatically slow down.

If you turn your power limit up to max it will help.
