Right guys,

I have bought myself one of these mobos, Intel C2Duo E6700, EVGA 8800GTS 320mb KO ACS3 Superclocked and Corsair 2GB DDR2-800 XMS2-6400 Dominator Series Memory. All installed fine and in the bios seems correct.

I have flashed the bios to the latest version and reformatted my SATA HDD, went to go and install fresh XP and no mouse support with USB?

Plugged in the exta USB ports that come with the MOBO and no support with them either? my PS2 Keyboard works and so does my Ethernet port..... just no USB.

USB is enabled in the bios etc. Just dont know what to do?

Thought i would ask you clever people before admitting it is faulty.

Its not faulty mate, you just need to get a PS2 mouse to get windows setup. I have this issue with my DFI Ultra D it won't recognise USB in the BIOS or in window setup.

Only way round I have found is to get a ps2 mouse. But I am sure some others will have get arounds.

ok, but ive installed windows, and at start up i can only use my PS2 Keyboard. XP Home, XP Pro, tried both.

No usb..... (mouse, pen drive etc.)

Ahh sorry mate you said you went to install windows. If you have windows installed then yeah sounds like a problem.

Have you got USB ports on the front of your case, do these work? As these are from USB headers on the mobo. If these work with all your stuff then yeah sounds like the USB heads on the back of the mobo are duff. Have you gone into control Pane --> system --> hardware devices and seen if there is a problem with your USB Host?

Sounds a strange one. Try a reset on the bios, flashing can do strange things, also remove the battery for a few mins. If that fails, send it back.

Good luck

Have you installed the Nvidia chipset drivers?

I can't see any mention of this in your posts.

All I can say is USB works fine on my P5N-e SLi, with the drivers installed. If you have done that maybe your board is just faulty :(

One more thing you haven't plugged in some extra case USB on the extra USB ports thats in the lose cable with separate pins, that you maybe have installed slightly wrong causing some kind of short circuit of your USB.
