Hi

I've just bought a new system.

Specs:
Asus x48 rampage mobo
intel Q9450 qud core
Gskill 2*4 gb RAM.
2* 4870 GPUs
300gb Raptor drive
Antec p190 case and 1200w psu

There is an LCD included with the system boad used during post problem is the system doesnt start at all. The LCD screen flashes. All it does. No fans starting up. no text on the screen.

Any Ideas why this would be. Scratching my head here.

Hiya,

About to get this mobo myself ...............

Are you sure (easy enough to get mixed up i guess) the reset/power/speaker wires are 100% in right places etc etc

With these all correct move onto, Trying 1 stick of ram (not always a problem having more than 1 stick in slots)

1 vidcard too

Then if no joy get into bios and check for ram settings and voltage

Ohh and check power from HSF to mobo as these sometimes are loose and can stop pc from firing up

If none of the above works i dunno offhand what else to try

(power leads to vidcard correct i assume ?)

Will have a look at pdf manual and see if anything there

edit: ps, You are doing a fresh/complete OS install ? and not trying to use already wrote to HD ??

pps: try to clear CMOS

hi, usual first question did you remember to plug in the 8way plug for cpu?

best way to check it is first reset cmos or take out battery for a while.

if still no joy try the board with one stick off ram and just 1 gpu.
swap over to other ram stick if still not working.
also check you have not got a standoff in wrong place, that could cause a short.

lastly you could try building up outside the case.

but a flashing lcd does not sound too good

Ok i have life.

Removed the dvd writer, raptor drive, 1 of the gpus, sound card that came with the mobo. And my wireless card.

Thanks guys. Now a case of putting it back in until it breaks.

It would seem the problem was the flexible light within th case. might seem useful but for some reason the system didnt like it. Connects via usb.

But sorted now.

Thanks again.
Now all I need is a water cooling kit for the CPU will be ordered Mon.
