Got my new soundcard today, Thanks OcUK!!! but seem to be having an issue when coming to install driver/software.

I'm greeted with this

A quick google of the error message takes me to the ASUS forums where one guy had the issue and needed a RMA

I have disabled onboard audio in BIOS under PCI settings and Chipset.

Uninstalled previous VIA Audio beforehand.

Reseated it, tried with and without any cables attached.

I can't use another PCI slot in my PC as I have none spare so before I rig up my old motherboard to check my PCI slot has failed does anyone have any info.

Please help!

I had that with the drivers I downloaded for my DX, so I installed the drivers off the disk that came with the card and then ran the install for the downloaded drivers and it worked fine. The way to check whether it is just the driver install not working or the board is to look in device manager and if the card has been detected there then it is probably the driver install failing.

All fixed my panic is over, I turned off a setting Local Group Policy (gpedit.msc) which tells windows not to install any drivers what so ever, as it has a knack of installing default driver went you update.

Strange one but lucky I remembered I did this!
