help with ATi GFX drivers

i currently have an ACER travelmate 5720

it was spec'd with an ATi X2500 with 256Mb and 1Gb turbo memory

anyways recently i had issues with drivers which didnt like Photoshop CS4

so i updated the drivers.

however it is now recognised as an X1700 :S i have tried the drivers off the ACER site to no avail,

about to try the ATi drivers(9.5) but unsure

omega drivers alredy have a modified inf file to support mobile ati and nvidia chips:

Personally I use them for both nvidia and ati based laptops if im looking for performance... give them a shot.

Correct. For some reason, Omega drivers stopped with Catalyst 8.4 which I am still running on my X1800.

Ati have mobility drivers, but oddly if you download the checking software on their site, it will most likely say the mobility driver won't run with their own card. Again very odd.

There are other modified and later catalyst drivers. I couldn't get them to work either but you could try. Make sure you do a System Restore and have a copy of your existing drivers before any trying out anything.

its no biggy i guess tbh photoshop works and i dnt realli game on my laptop that much but thanks for your time greatly appreciate
