Help with ATI Overlay

I've reformatted (Vista) an old HTPC with a Radeon 9800 Pro in it.

I Installed Catalyst 7.11 and then get no overlay at all - If I start Media Center, the screen is black, if I try to play a sample video file in media player, I get sound and "visualisation", no picture.

If I uninstall the ATI drivers, all works fine.

Re-install the drivers and same problem again.

Any ideas what I can do about this?
