Hi,

I have a home network connected to a BT ADSL (up to 20MB) phone line. I also have 10 devices connected to the ADSL via a Netgear ProSafe 16 port switch.

The problem is, when my sons go on their Xbox and PS3 I am unable to load a basic web page, never mind do anything else. So what i want is to be able to limit their bandwidth, along with other things.

I was looking at the Linksys WRT54GL, however from what i can see this is only a router, and NOT a modem/router. If i am correct, do Linksys not do a router/modem similar to the WRT54GL which will take third party firmware.

I downloaded Ubuntu at 1.6MB/sec. I also ran a speed test at Thinkbroadband.com wich showed D/L at 11.2Mbps. However that was after getting "server not found" eight times.

I have also tested my Broadband link with a tested plugged directly into my master socket. That showed the connection as 15.68Mbps.

Am i missing something??
