Help with BF2.

I'm trying to play BF2 online, I bought the game through steam but it's currently saying my CD-key isn't valid when I try to join a server.

Does anyone know what I should do? I'm kind of at a loss myself, not had much luck with steam recently I must say.

I don't think I can change any of that because it's installed using steam...

I tried but the directories you're telling me to look for don't exist. Anybody else bought BF2 off of steam and had this problem?
