Hi all,

My machine is completly kaput (has been for a while).. I got the local PC Fixer dude to take a look but he was pretty much useless and before taking £45 from me.. gave it back to me with the PSU in a bag saying both PSU and Motherboard are dead and I should go down to PC World as they have loads of gaming PCs down there and it would be cheaper than fixing this one....... I don't think he really had a clue and was more used to installing anti-virus on web browsers for old ladies and charging them £100 for the previlige.. ah well lesson learnt.

Machine is 3-4 year old OCUK bundle.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 GO 2.40GHz Quad Core CPU Overclocked too a minimum of 3.00GHz and beyond.
- Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Intel approved cooler
- Abit IP35 Pro XE Intel P35 (Socket LGA775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
- Corsair 4GB PC2-6400 CAS4 (4x1GB) Dual Channel Kit
- 500GB Seagate 32MB Cache SATA-2 Hard Drive
- NVIDIA 8800GT 512MB
- Pioneer DVR-216DBK 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)
- OCZ 600W Next Generation Power Supply

Machine was giving loads of problems with loads of BSODs and then finally dead except for 1 single red light on the IP35. I think it was a corrupt BIOS as last time I got it to boot I couldn't get into BIOS...

I need to get this machine up and running again. I believe GPU is working fine although will replace it at some stage soon.. HD is obviously fine but definately will need new PSU and Motherboard.

Budget is whatever it takes and I will order from OCUK today..

I will need copy of Win 7 as want to get that on it machine asap although never really had any probs with Vista 64.

Machine is for gaming mostly

Don't want too noisy if at all possible.

Have screen, case, HD, DVDRW from old machine.. also presume the Q6600 is still fine.. wouldn't mind a quieter cooler.

Is there a way to buy the bits in a bundle? I am reasonably confident I can get it together myself (ish).

Going to need lots advice putting it together...

Any advice on best way to get going at this?

Cheers

CLH
