Help with budget and parts

I currently have budget of about a grand for tower that includes an OS. I have one build option with 290 without an SSD but if I swap out my card to a 280x I can get 120gb ssd in the budget.(both are i5 4670ks)

As my PC will be used for gaming would you get the better gpu or sacrifice and get an SSD?

Certainly is, as long as you are not the unluckiest guy in the world and got an i5 that gives up before 4.2Ghz.
