Hey Guys :)

Im looking to build a gaming PC whilst working to a budget!. Im looking to start making youtube videos so want to build a PC that suitable to record games whilst playing them that can handle rendering and editing (nothing major, just adding titles and voice over in Sony Vegas). Im looking to play Minecraft, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Skyrim. I will be playing at 1024x768 resolution as to upload in 720p, Im not worried about playing on the ULTRA graphic settings or anything for Black Ops, not worried about AA, AF or Tesselation so would like to get very good frames per second.

Im looking at a budget of £300 for a bare build to start, so this excludes GPU, Monitor, OS, Keyboard, Mouse and any other peripherals!.

The things that I would like the build to include would be USB 3.0, not worried about SATA III or PCI - E 3.0. I would like a hard drive with 500GB Capacity, 8GB RAM as the price is low right now, a DVD RW drive, and a suitable PSU for when I buy my GPU later on, I will be getting the MSI GeForce GTX 650 OC Edition a few weeks later so will need a board that supports whatever the processor is onboard Graphics.

Thanks for Any Help Guys and a Happy New Year! :)

Hey guys, thanks for the ideas!

I wasnt looking to do any HEAVY editing at all, my laptop works for me at the minute and has a dual core 1.46 GHZ processor!. So I was maybe thinking an IvyBridge i3 and therefore no need for a z77 mobo, maybe a b75?

thanks a lot for the replies guys! :)

im thinking definetly an i3 ivybridge over an i5 just for budget sake. Will the b75 mobo support the i3's onboard gpu so that i can use it until i get my gpu?.

How do you show your basket on the forum so i can show you my ideas? :)

happy new year!

The Merc beta is not a good case to be honest, you want USB3 but it has no front USB3 ports, it only has one fan too. Your RAM is too slow really aswell

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-3220 3.30GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £89.99
1 x Asus P8Z77-V LX2 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £72.98
1 x Toshiba (7K1000.D) 1TB SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache - OEM (DT01ACA100) £51.98
1 x XFX Pro 450W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £43.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £35.99

1 x OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £13.99
Total : £356.02 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Little more cash but better spec, not everything is in stock but you can place the order and it will all be dispatched once in stock. Note the HDD has twice the capacity and cache for not much more :)

How have you managed to get a better HDD, RAM and MOBO for like £20 more?!?! :D

I will be ordering at the end of this ,month on the 29th so all subject to change :D. Im just working out a new build now with a lot of the parts you recommended :)

True!, on that note, would you suggest buying parts in stage, for example the ones that arent too likely to fluctuate in price e.g. Case, Motherboard?

ive just read that the i3 3220 DOESNT support pci - 3.0 but the ivybridge i5's and i7's do. Is this correct?.

Is there any noticeable difference between pci-2.0 and pci -3.0? Or is it just a marketing thing?
