Hi guys.

Looks like I'm in luck and should be able order my new PC today/tomorrow.

Just looking for some feedback on my build. I'm trying to build a gaming rig that will fit in my tv stand hence the Cosair 250D. I'm open to suggestions as long as the case stays the same and components fit. I'm trying to keep this build as cheap as possible. But i can stretch it a little if it's worth it. I haven't included windows 8.1 in the picture below as I'm considering just getting the 3month trial and then upgrading it.

I'll mainly be playing Archage, Wow etc on my Samsung 37" LED TV.

It's been a long time since I built my own rig so feel free to rip this build apart lol.

P.S modular PSU would be better with it being a small case to save on the clutter :-) also feel like I'm forgetting something from my build? Dunno if it'd just cause the Mobo and CPU are bundled together.

EDIT: Just thinking out loud, the reason for my MSI card is purely to match the Mobo, obviously if there's better. I was thinking how much of a bonus I'd get for upgrading to a 280x? Or even switching to a NVIDEA card. Would also like it to be sort of future proof. So just a gfx upgrade would allow me to play high end games etc.

Hi :)

Good taste , got very similar spec system to you there. :D
Personally i think yes, if you can afford too go with the 280x much better card. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-225-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1842

Personally though , I would look toward Nvidia 770GTX in the same price range. I know budget wise its not what your looking to spend :http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-202-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1750

This would be better though,, Price is well above though :( : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-239-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752

I would think of changing the power supply, with something priced similar but is head and shoulders apart. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-004-SF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2463

Just giving you some options there buddy. Maybe put a budget down and lets see what we can come up with.

Hi Chaps,

I see you have a somewhat similar system to what I plan on building, can I ask you a specific question regarding the 250D paired with the H100i?

What is the clearance with the radiators like? Reckon I could put in the new ASUS ROG mITX motherboard? It has a lot of daughterboards, and one right where the radiator would be above it seems:

Thanks in advance.

I've got a quick question regarding my build. When I fit the H100i, I'm guessing mounting it to the side is the best place, but in the front would I be able to fit a 200mm fan like the case specs suggest? Just I see a lot of people only fitting 140s?

Also is the 2 smaller 60mm fan spaces worth using?

With mine fitting into the tv stand I was planning on the front 200 mm fan being set as a pull, and the rad/ 60mm's as a exhaust ?

Hi,

Ive just finished my 250D build with the ASUS Z97I Plus and a H100i. The rad is slim enough to mount to the 2 fans and just squeeze behind the edge of the mobo, though i did have to leave off 3 bottom screws on the fans. Not a problem though as they were held in place by the mobo. I dont think you'll have a problem with this board

you can fit certain 200mm fans in the front coupled with the H100i as long as you put it in the right way, e.g. Dimensions (mm): 200x200x25mm

to see how you do it visit this project log below (not mine)

you can see on the side he has the pipe for the AIO at the back of the case, then the fans on the outside, with the rad closer to the M/B, this will also fix the issue @GavS4S was having with not being able to put 3 screws in as they would go in from the outside of the case. doing this should leave you enough room for pretty much any standard 200mm fan out there
