easy guys,

I am needing some assistance with building my first pc. I'm intending to use it purely for heavy gaming only.

With a basic knowledge of computers, I have chosen to what I believe is a good build but I am slightly stuck with what motherboard will work best with the GeForce 670 GTX card.

This is my build so far: http://vvcap.net/db/yuAq1gaOXaVgLgsb7nUx.htp

I would greatly appreciated any feedback on what could be improved with the build.

Many thanks,

Joe.

Given that your overall budget is fairly high, I'd be tempted to spend another £30 on a 128GB SSD (the Crucial one above is good). I'm assuming you'd want to put the games you were presently playing on the SSD... with a 64GB, you'll only get a couple of games on there once Windows is installed.

Otherwise, looks good.

I know case choice is a personal thing, but it you want something with that kind of aesthetic I'd suggest the CM storm trooper, which is probably £115 again by the time you read this. The quality will be higher than an aerocool case.

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely look at the larger SSD mentioned and also the other build!... Two quick questions,

Will the motherboard I have selected work/fit fine with the GeForce 670 card?

And also is there much of a difference between brands of graphic cards, some seem to be more even if it's the same model. (What do you guys recommend for the 670)?

Much appreciated.

motherboard: yes

as for 670, that depends on the models etc. Brand prefence comes from warranties and RMA procedures as well as customer service etc. 670 is something to look into carefully though because there are several types of PCB (circuit board). The one you've chosen in a long 670 pcb, I think it's comparable to a 680 pcb. There are other with 670 reference pcbs (short) and there are some with non-reference pcbs (asus dcii etc)

The offers change later today which is why I haven't gone into much detail, as it may well need to be adjusted. Hopefully you can see that my build is technically better than your original spec for less cash.....lets hope the offers are kind to you :)
