Help with Capture Card

Ok so I have a 4k Avermedia capture card and I want to record gameplay from Steam Deck.

Steam Deck USB C HDMI adapter is connected to a HDMI 2.0 which is plugged in HDMI In on the Card.

HDMI from monitor is going into the HDMI Out on the card.
USB C plugged in capture card and USB A on PC.

Now my pc monitor shows Steam OS but how do I get to use the PC software I can't switch to PC? Am I doing something wrong?
