help with card/compatibility

So my 8800gt died and it's time to find a new card, though I want to ensure I make the right choice so I need your help!

My motherboard:
BFG NF680i SLI

I was thinking of getting a Radeon HD 4870 though I wasn't sure if this would work with my motherboard. Was hoping someone could enlighten me or let me know of a better choice. Thanks.
