Help with changing font in photoshop

Say i have a picture of a magazine front cover, and i want to change the name to something different but keep the same font/style, how would i do that?

Use. Download/purchase said font and add the text. Imitate the font style using Photoshop.

The only way I could think of to do that, would be to get the name of the font (using psyr33n's method), then erase the portion of the image that already has the text on. Then afterwards, use the clone/stamp tool to reproduce the background as best as possible, and type the words you want on with the new font.

I don't think it's possible to change a flat image to a layered image whereby the text is removable from the rest of the image simply by hiding the layer. Or at least if it is possible, I wanna know how to do it
