Basically i accidently have all my documents saved to the C drive but want them to be stored on the D drive so the question is can i just move everything from on drive to the other and how do i change the folder directory on the shortcut on the windows start menu from the C drive to the D drive?

Thanks

Flare

My Documents -> Right click -> Properties -> Location TAB -> Move BUTTON -> Point your My Documents anywhere you like and it will move it all for you.
Now when you click My Documents it will appear no differnt to you but the location the files are stored in will have changed.
This also works with Pictures, Music and so and so.

well yeah but sometimes i don't want to be minimising all my windows:p

apologies for lazyness but whacking one on quick launch tool bar would be good too:D

ive actualli got one for my computer gets a bit crazy when i go into a folder with lots of files but sometmes its useful haveing it as a tool bar

Thanks a few things though:
There is no location tab so this kinda messed the whole thing up BUT on the my documents shortcut on the windows start menu i can just right click and change the target folder location. The odd thing though is that this only comes up with right clicking my documents and not any other shortcuts on the start menu such as my music and my pictures =/ i am half there i suppose

Venares thanks, that worked, all the shortcuts that linked to directories within my documents automatically changed :D

Ah my appologies, I had assumed you where running Vista, sounds like you are on XP still.
With XP you need to use TweakUI, there is a guide here on how to do it.

Hehe, nvm then.
I'll leave this here for posterity, someone may find it useful.
Glad I could help Flare.
