Hi all.

I have been having difficulty trying to limit my kids wireless usage when they are in their rooms.

My daughter is smashing Facebook too much and my lad is doing Minecraft servers.

I could just disable in the settings manually every night via my rig BUT they need to understand time management.

I have the latest Sky router - SR101

https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&r...6D-sl6L3cceL8zru5r3yRPVg&ust=1363905605208466

There do not seem to be any parental controls for `devices attached to this router` (unlike the BT home hub I had before)

Do any of the internet `Guru`s` on here have the information to enlighten me...?

I have tried to limit usage through the firewall rules with the scheduler but failed big time.

I still need to have internet usage myself so I cant just block all.

The other issue is that they have smart phones.

The kids devices run wireless except mine which is `hard wired` but my other half has a wireless laptop.

Please help.

Thanks

Thanks..

How will this compare to the Sky router for streaming and downloading media,

Wanted to download a game off Steam last night and was going to take far too long to sit and wait for it to download, then play it and find out it could be pants.

Bear in mind that I am on Fibre unlimited to the cabinet, which is 200 yards away.

Looks a nice bit of kit, would it be worth going for the next one up or will that be a big enough improvement anyway.

Thanks for the replies and advice too..

Out of curiousity since you have FTTC what problems are you getting that's being affected by your children's usage? Just saying, family of six here with FTTC with about 20 devices total and all is fine here.

Not an issue with them using it, no bottleneck with every thing streaming or whatever...

The issue is curbing the sneaky little blights evening stints when they are supposed to be in bed..

Daughter under the covers pretending to be asleep...nah...on Facebook on her IPod..

Son setting his phone to wake up at silly hours when the house is asleep to play COD4 ....

Tell you, I thought I was sly at their age....:rolleyes:

Just want to block all internet on their devices via wifi during the times when they SHOULD be asleep.

I need them to understand that at `X` oclock the internet stops and they should have done everything they need to before that time, then they will learn to get stuff done before that cut off point.

Thanks

Revo.
