Hi all,

I'm helping a friend choose the best laptop with a £400 budget. I hope I'm ok posting this here?

It doesn't need to do anything too fancy. Can you confirm these specs are decent with this price in mind please?

- 8gm RAM
- 1TB hard drive
- Graphics? I'm not sure, he's not into gaming but mentioned CAD design. I looked up the CAD specs and they didn't look too heavy. Anyway, this requirement isn't vital and we can go without.
- Processor - I guess an i3 at the minimum?
- Resolution - I see laptops with "1366 x 768" resolution. I guess this is ok for a laptop of this size? I would have been happier seeing "1920 x ?" but maybe that's not relevant here?
- Windows 10.

I can't see anything in this price range on the Overclockers website.

Can anyone confirm if the Lenovo brand is any good?

Many thanks for your time.

OcUK tend to focus more on the performance end of the laptop scale. The Dell 5000 15" inspiron will get you there with good build quality but a les than great display. The Lenovo Ideapad 510 offers a better screen at 1920x1080.

well for just a tiny bit over your budget as hodders has said, the lenovo ideapad 510 in currys at the moment for £430 which has a 15'6 inch screen and 1920x1080 resolution.
Intel i5 cpu
8gb ram
nvidia geforce 940mx 2gb video
1tb drive

seems pretty good for that price, ive got one but not opened it yet though lol
