Hi there,
I'm starting a masters in August and am looking for a new laptop. I currently have an old MacBook Air, which is coming to the end of its shelf life, so I now want to make the switch to Windows. I'll be studying Middle Eastern Studies and Informatics, so I don't need anything with crazy specs - just as long as it can run some basic archaeology software like GIS, which pretty much any laptop can these days. I also play Skyrim, The Witcher, and Assassin's Creed - previously on console, but I want to start on laptop.
The options I'm considering are:
- HP Omen
- Legion Pro
- Asus Tuf
or anything else that someone might think is better, as I'm now very out of my depth with knowing what's best as I've used a Mac for the past twelve years of my life.
My priorities are:
- Relatively portable, so I don't want anything bigger than 15 inches
- Fans aren't too overwhelmingly loud
- Doesn't get crazily hot
Aside from that, I don't really mind. My budget is up to £1,500, but preferably a little less. I'm not used to having a keypad on the keyboard, but I don't mind having one. Sorry for the long post, and thanks so much in advance.
